A combination of a terribly interesting item, and a fascination with Countercharm.
After diving into the mechanics for the flute, I really wanted to incorporate this aspect into another concentration mechanic. The result is both a tinkerer item, and a very flavored bard instrument! Trading off a Bonus Action for a dual concentration, seemed right up the alley for a caster learning or support bard.

Description:
This complex instrument began as a fiddle belonging to the famous tinkerer bard, Ileana. By adding a crank, replacing the bow with a rosined wheel, and attaching keys, she combined several instruments into a true composite. While that feat in itself might have been enough for most, through means of further enchantment she created a stellar aid in weaving magic.

- This odd instrument requires two hands to properly use.
- Steady Tune: As a Bonus Action, while concentrating on a Bard Spell of level 3 or lower. The user is able to start a performance by turning the handle of this instrument, producing a continuous note that lasts until the end of their next turn. This performance assumes the role of the user's ‘Concentration’ for that spell. This can last until they choose to no longer sustain the tune on following rounds or until the spell ends.
- While performing in this way, the user is able to cast and maintain concentration on a separate spell.
