This is actually a swap in item, I originally wanted to make a set of dice where you could roll a set number with a somatic or verbal trigger. Turns out there is an attuned version in XGE, which just means I need to read up more on the other books it seems.
As a stand in, I have the shepherdβs token that was planned for next week. This one is Common to the core, not as versatile as the spell βDetect Poisons and Disease.β It does the job for a low level party for a single source. Something nice to have in the back pocket when a wizard is not around.

Description:
These bronze stamped tokens are commonly carried into the wilds among shepherds, hence the namesake. Testing water before letting the herd drink has saved many creatures. While simple in design and nature, these tokens are a treasured tool for keeping the user and their cohorts safe in their travels.
Tabs:
- When dropped into a liquid, over the course of 1 minute per 1 Cubic Ft of liquid, The bronze token will change the color to aged and molded tin if in the presence of Poison or Disease. Once this feature has been used, it cannot be used again until the next dawn.
- This will not identify the poison or disease, just the presence.
