I had been itching to make an armor again for a while and here we are! I wanted a mechanic that was simple and overly useful, so here it is. Resistance is powerful, so a Reaction and Half Health cap will hopefully balance abuse.
I hope you enjoy it, and let me know what you think, trying a new take on the icons for ½. Possibly adding some mundane types in for resistance.

Description:
This aged breastplate is adorned with layers of leathers lined with a deep crimson fur. Its signs of battle seem woven into its very core. Damage and dried splatter are old compatriots across this battle worn armor. While its steel base is apparent, it is the darkened leather and hard iron plates that give the distinctive look. This armor was clearly worn by one who knew the cost of battle.
Tabs:
- While worn, the user has a +2 bonus to Armor Class.
- Warriors Burden: As a Reaction, immediately after the user takes Damage and if they are below Half of their Maximum Hit Points. The user is able to gain Resistance against the last damage type that dealt them damage.
- This resistance lasts until the user regains more Half their Maximum Hit Points, or they take a Long Rest.
- If there were multiple damage sources, the user must choose one.
