Outstanding response there. I had thought along those lines myself but Jay is very capable of throwing us all a curveball while we are expecting the knuckleball instead. Plus, she doesn't know that Thomas didn't send his friend to ask her to pretend to be his girlfriend again. He plainly stated that that was not an option. That is unless I've missed something somewhere.

I like how Miko doesn't even care that Thomas doesn't want to be with Gwen either.

Miko’s mother is very demanding of her, so I can see why Miko might be a bit demanding herself. Being that she has little freedom of her own, I suspect that Thomas’s free will was part of what attracted her to him in the first place. She possibly subconsciously resented him a little for his freedom carefree attitude as they got older and her mother demanded more of her. As her mother demanded more of her, she demanded more of Thomas, until he put his foot down. Not saying he was right or wrong, that remains to be seen. And I don’t think she knows exactly what she wants at this point.
