The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening's dungeon design | Boss Keys

This is the second episode in my Boss Keys series, this time focusing on the way Game Boy game Link's Awakening expanded the dungeon design to be about items, as well as keys.As always, spin-off shows are free to Patrons, but would be impossible without your support. Great video! Link's Awakening is the best 2D Zelda game if not the best Zelda. The dungeon design is great. The world map is fun to navigate and has a variety of side content. A Link to the Past might have kicked off Zelda as we know it, but the Gameboy games perfected the formula.

Link's Awakening is one of my favorite games of all time. I remember just spending hours and hours on it, this really brought back some great memories!
Yes! Thanks for this Mark. :) Oh btw, started playing The Swindle yesterday. It's devilishly difficult, and I really get what you mean about the risk vs. reward balance present in the game.

Thanks for the preview. Feeling kinda special seeing these episodes before the rest of the viewers. Never got into Zelda games, somehow they never appealed to me - but your videos (especially your post about the new upcoming Zelda game) makes me wonder if I should give them a try I think I'm still stuck in the power-fantasy-games, so some small boy roaming through dungeons doesn't really looks exciting :D (and besides that, the open-world of Zelda games more scares me away than intrigues me)
