I've literally played every single chapter of Frostpunk, and I think it can be a symbolic, representative game with highlights worth being analyzed with one entire video. First is the endgame setting: The usual game that includes resource management often went too easy in late game, especially when it provided player improvement in resource output and efficiency (usually through research trees). But as the player increase the scale of the city, the resource output and consumption becomes so massive that it could be catastrophic if your output side breaks down for merely one day, not to mention one week. This "Final Boss"-like task design heavily challenges player to do early preparation, making even late game thrilling and tense. Another one is the moral choices. At first playthrough I thought the theme of the game was to tell the stories of post-("ice age"-)apocalyptic people struggling for survival, as every resident is starving, freezing, even deadly ill; then after the ending timelapse told me "we crossed the line" did I finally realize that the devs were attempting to bring the conflicts of the old world (reference to the Victorian-age Britain) into the scene of the game. It made me feel "distracted" when playing the New Home chapter, as the game was forcing me to constantly balance between material and mental needs of the people regardless of how bad the situation was. Actually in survivors mode (highest difficulty) there'd be no choices other than child labor for players, otherwise the residents will soon die out due to lack of resources caused by insufficient labor.

Ooeeeh Hades. Love that game. And I'm eager to try Spelunky 2 - have not really played Spelunky (1) that much, so maybe I should give that a whirl first.
