The GMTK Game Jam returns for 2025!

First of all: thank you for your well wishes and patience with my broken elbow. It's healing up nicely - just a bit battered and bruised but I can at least type again, so have been returning to work.
My main focus has been on my new game (more on that very soon), but new videos are also coming. And... there's now a date for this year's game jam!
The jam will kick off on July 31st, and run for 96 hours until August 3rd. If you're interested in taking part please head to the Itch.io page - if you get there before I change the page simply click "Register Your Interest" and you'll be automatically added as soon as the jam is officially announced to the rest of the world.

Agreed, also because of Slopsquatting. Someone could be putting malware into their code without even realizing.

I think the AI section of the rules should also mention AI generated code (as it does for art and audio)? (For context, genAI code is a big issue in the software and game industry right now and it would help avoid being flooded with that kind of content)

Man, Friday-Tuesday would be so much better for me. Not just for the extended timeframe, but because I always have Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off.

That's 72 hours. Last year was 96 hours, Friday-Tuesday, but the dates as you currently have them are Thursday-Sunday, which is starting one day earlier but ending two days earlier.
