Here's an island region. There exists a strange arcane cycle that affects magic and is somehow related to a golden dragon that sleeps most of the time, only to wake up for four days and fly around the island. When it does so, it drops a gold dust that causes a herb to sprout. People take this herb and make it into a drug that makes you feel like a high level hero!
