This map of Riven is so scuffed and so old, but I still reference it all the time when writing! One day I will draw a proper one, but until then, I love my one minute scrawl to death. It was drawn during the time I only really knew of Sive and Lyselin! ps. The word "Stall" between the tavern and the mercenaries office is the Swedish word for stables. lol.
[no spoilers] And the very first pages (+ a telephone doodle pfft) of developing OUROBOROS into an interactive fiction. Some of the early names for the characters in the top left!
- Brivet/Bonnie is now Sene/Selene,
- Loren/Lara was a priest romance that never made it into the game,
- Verbil/Vera was a druid, but they got axed too
- Ante used to be what I called Leith!
- Oma's original name was Oona, and yes, at first I considered her as a romance option. Crazy to think.
- Idren/Ida wasn't even in the picture yet! I can't imagine this story without them now.
Hope you enjoy my chicken scrawls that I thought no one would ever see 🤭 Maybe now I'll stop writing my notes in pencil... And waking up with graphite all over my face. (very unlikely)

I am a bit more flexible on distance, and see them more as directions when I write actually! I see Riven as quite a big town, so there would be at least a 15 minute walk from say the clinic to mercs office! The market 2? Space is also what I call the 'old courtyard' now, which is a bit of a sprawling park with ponds and such! The lake is where the church stood, yes, right where the scribble of the inverse tree is. The rest is harbor. And yes, there was always many rivers, hence the name. 🤭 The main river was subterranean though, flowing past where the ritual chambers now are, and the well (the Stila) was. Now there are four rivers that flow from the harbor, what Rivenians call the 'watermarks'! Very long reply haha, hope it gave some insight :>

Oh wow, so all of the major buildings in Riven (regarding our origin story at least) are pretty close together! Also is that the lake where the building that used to hide the Stila was? Or were there always lots of rivers in riven (feel kinda silly asking that now but ya know)
