🕑 Added 2023-10-16 15:41:42 +0000 UTCA little potpurri of Stuff today for you, and we'll start with some accomplished tasks for the past week!
- I'm done with the outline and scene-cards for my super secret indulgent project. It's a retelling of a classic tale, set in ouro, but that is all I'll say! (for now) :>
- I wrote the first draft of Y's character card flashback story (character cards are where you choose the characters pronouns and learn about them)
- sketched a bit to find a neat sketching style. It's going horrendous. I'm a chronic draw with your wrist person, which is an awful, terrible and very bad practice! I'm learning though, to relax my posture and draw standing instead of like a shrimp on the couch.
- Some revisions, surprisingly. A lot of it is a back and forth of writing and then discarding and then digging it back up again from snippet purgatory, but typing out the changes within their context has helped in the process of working out the plotbunnies. Y'all. The game is in such a state right now. It's like when you pull out all the furniture to rearrange- everything is everywhere and the only thing that makes sense is the final vision. Much like my mental health. lol. I am so happy I am doing this though- I really felt like the story was headed down a path I wasn't intending for it to go.
- Auryn has gone through a major shift as a character (which I'll talk about in its own post, but if you're on discord you might have seen us talking about it!) I paused their character card and flashback story, but finished their mood board before this change came to be, so I'll post that below for you to see :] (Also don't pay attention to their surname, I am not happy with it lol. I am god awful with finding names that fit, yk?)
You'll see that it says that they have been a priest/ess before, but, I am changing their character to actually become the priest/ess and an emissary of Oakwerths church of the Ormr. Now that Oakwerth will have a stronger presence in Riven, it only made sense to revert Auryn back into my original vision for their character. They'll still be their own thirsty self, but it will be oh, so, so repressed and buried under the massive miasma of shame. >:3
- I wrote a handful of words on M!Leiths haunted October special- oh it's agonizing with the pining. THE PINING!!- and I will be writing the second place poll option too, so if you voted for m!Leith, feel free to change your vote!

yesss exactly!! And using violence as a cope instead of it 'just' being their job. Mmmm. Yummy. Tempted to give them a mace or chain to wield(they were a sniper before). O, and on the topic of hiding - I'm keeping the fact that they have a good relationship with Y, so I'd say there's some symbiosis going on there; you scratch my back I'll scratch yours-type beat :>

Listen, getting to see Auryn climb a tree out in the open for the first time? To see them act more freely and full of joy and encouraging that? HELL yeah!!! Also priest who’s secretly addicted to MULTIPLE things?? 👀👀 I wonder how Auryn’s gonna hide all of that from the church and keep the rumors about them suppressed

Oh I *love* your musings so much! You hit the nail on the head when it comes to adding an extra dimension to Auryns arc, especially one that is such a great parallel to the hunters own. But, I think there is a lot more overlap between old and new Auryn than you think! In the end, what you say about the hunter having a more active role in aurys arc is why this change is being made- instead of Auryn already having developed some coping mechanisms (not the best ones 💀), hunter is meeting them at the beginning of that journey, allowing the hunter to take an active role in their healing(or worsening. is that a word in English lmfao). I hope my sleep deprived words make sense, and thank you so much for your thoughts! Super interesting to hear what you think :> 💖

Thank you sweetest! The teeth indeed 👀 and you're the best for repping the underdogs in the poll haha :] I'm leaning more towards making a fixed schedule of some sort, but keep the polls for some other aspect of it. Thank you for the comment💖

See this is interesting: I think being a priest changes Auryn’s whole character arc. We assume they ran to Riven to enjoy a modicum of freedom away from the *cough*snope*cough* oppression of Oakwerth. That’s why they’re so wild and fun: they’re finally free after all those years. Still with heaps of unresolved trauma, but they’re well loved and have a life for themselves. They’re trusted in Riven and seen as a protector. As a priest, they’re still under *cough*the snope*cough* Oakwerth’s thumb, probably untrusted and still isolated. Mistrusted because of their role in the church. So instead of the hunter finding out their relation to Oakwerth and feeling betrayed by their ties to it, we start out not trusting them only to see they’re just as much of a victim of Oakwerth as Riven is. I don’t know which one I prefer, honestly!! I think Priest!Auryn will eventually grow into Hunter!Auryn so they’re the same at their core, but maybe at different spots in their journey. Auryn probably figured out a lot about themselves as a hunter and ran away from the rest. I feel like the hunter would maybe have a more active role in their story? Idk but I’m turning it in my head like a rotisserie chicken

Love Auryn's moodboard. The teeth, I am looking. RIP my dude (gender neutral) - thirsty, horny and repressed. Hhmm, I did vote 'rarely get to see the gender and pairing i voted for' - i always seem to vote for the unpopular choices. L and Id are runaway favorites and the M versions always win when the poll is mixed M/F. this always happens anyway on other patreon polling too, you're not alone in this regard - the dudes always win mixed gender polls for content. I'm cry ;_; (I would love more Y, S and Auryn content, even if you have to rig the polls.)
