🕑 Added 2024-12-02 19:58:56 +0000 UTCHello! I'm writing you from the trenches of apartment hunting, student-funding issues and the footnote reformatting hell that uni is. I'm beaten black and blue by the stress that is battering me from every angle, I'm not gonna lie. Nana's hip is worsening and I'm only finding apartments that are on the top floor with only stairs. And because of the crazy queueing system here, although I have been in it for 15 years, it's not even sure I get any of them. I went to see three this past week and I have yet another tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed. And then it is time to schedule a time at the vet and pray that I can afford the surgery somehow. My mom's hip surgery had complications and for two days her heart bpm barely grazed 40. She's fine now (thank god) and will get to come home tomorrow. But! Enough about the life that is lifing on ultra hard mode, and more about the hopeful glimpses in ouro's future. As I'm sure you know, the 300 something dollars a month I get from Patreon has literally saved my ass for the past months. So I thought it was time to give back, and with the same stone get a leg up on ouro development. I hired a gamedev (!!!!!) that will help me with the UI done so that I can focus on writing! Wohooo! I got on here after sending the contract off just an hour ago, after we had finalized the details on what he will work on.
I hope you saw the sneekpeak that was last weeks post, because that is what he will be working on! Among a lot of other things. And it's all funded by you, to get the demo to you faster! :D
We are iterating and finding the best optimization for android and iOS apps, while I slowly chug away at refactoring the code from choicescript into python, and writing the new chapters. I am working slower than he is, but this is still a huge workload off my back, letting me focus on mostly writing. I'm excited, if a bit apprehensive (only because. yk. vague handwave everything else). I don't have an exact timeline (hisses like a dracula before a cross) but I will keep you updated with devlogs as soon as there is progress, or biweekly if it's a compounded effort.
