I only like horror in the sense of instilling dread in the player, like southern gothic or the like, nothing graphic or gory please. Personally I prefer sci-fi over any other genre, but since you already delivered with Cardinal Cross, you might want to broaden your horizon and try something different. Mini-game-wise I second the potion making, finding clues, and solving riddles. I also like it when something is on stake, either only having a limited set of items to use, only being able to afford items with enough money, advancing in the game only if you can solve the puzzle. That might be source for frustration for some people, though. I heavily second the idea with the maze! I really love to explore an area, kinda like you did with A:ETD/RPG. I'm not a fan of skill building and I prefer having gallery CGs over customizing.

Maybe the VN could involve time travel (or reincarnation and/or it's a multi generational saga). For a historical setting cooking games would be fun!

I really really like the idea of a dark horror/thriller! I feel like the genre is somewhat untapped tbh and I love the sorta Penny dreadful vibes I’m getting. Either way, whichever you decide on I would love to play :D

I don't like horror all that much, but I like the classical aesthetics much more than the urban ones. There is a really cool minigame I have only seen in a VN called Cafe Rouge, in which several arrows appear on the screen, and the player has to choose their path. This could be super fun like a maze, or navigating a city, but I don't know how time consuming would be programming this.

Ohhhh, find the clue kind of thing is really cool, all kinds of investigative point and clicky kind of things. And it's something you've already coded for other minigames (click on an object, read commentary), so it also looks achievable. But I'm excited either way! [Also can't wait for being able to change jobs and be able to support you here, I get why you switched to Patreon funding, but I miss being able to support you directly tbh]

I am SO here for a dark fantasy game, personally. I also gotta second the "find the clue" mini-game idea, particularly in that kind of setting-- there's something so delightfully creepy about it haha. Looks awesome as always! Excited for any and all updates ^.^

I would like horror/dark fantasy a lot! Maybe with a mini-game like finding clues hidden on the screen or resolving enigmas There is just one thing I miss on your new games, it's the personalisation of the MC that we had in Ascension. I mean, I like to be able to chose the skin color, but I loved to be able to change the hairstyle too and buy/find new outfits, even if there are only few options. This was realy a big + for me!

For spies, definitely some kind of codebreaking or find-the-clues type of thing. If that's what you mean by that.... There's a lot of ways you can write a spy story. Lol
