-FATED MATES | PRELUDE: NIGHT III
There is a new Fated Mates update. I was going to publish it this past weekend, but similar to the other Night III Part 1 updates, it was short and it bore a lot of similarities with Classic. It didn't think it would be satisfying. For that reason, I sat on it for a few more days, and by sat on it I mean I wrote more content in between prepping for the relaunch so it's twice as long now and has a lot of stuff the Classic drop didn't.
I'm still in the process of preparing to relaunch the public build this weekend, so I likely won't be able to start Dark Maiden until Monday but I'll be writing the rest of Night III until it's finished and it's quite long and juicy. You'll likely have another Classic update this weekend, bringing the timeline up to where Fated Mates ends, which is following your third dream and the much anticipated selection of your goddess.
I encourage you to poke around and read both dream routes, finding one that best aligns with your personality, as your goddess will have a moderate amount of impact on your storyline.

I love the gif! I feel bad for Serax being relegated to comic relief while they're thirsting over one another. I can see shades of his Classic route self here which makes me sad. But don't worry, he'll toss a match on our goodwill soon enough. I'm glad that Selyra is getting love. I don't feel like I did her enough justice in the original post about her and her sister. I really like the Lady and the Tiger-esque unfolding in the narrative where it's left to the reader to discern whether her prophecy was intentional.

The nerve he has! ๐ค "... framing the same vibrant 3 eyes you saw in the dream." I got something similar, but it said "2 eyes" for me. Maybe corresponds to the color of MC's eyes because I think emerald is the second option in the eye color loop?

I will be snickering about this for the rest of the day. ๐ Poor Serax is in the tent but at the same time he's kinda not, lol. I liked the goddess sequences! Selyra!MC's Sherlocking before she's hit double digits and Lirael!MC's getting those cool Heretic dreams and weaving tales of her own (or having them weaved for her...)! Locking in on Selyra, but I'll be curious about Lirael's story, too... ๐

I choked at, "Is Serax your son?" I bet Serax LOVED hearing that ๐. Val and MC ignoring his existence, when talking about traveling the arctic "unchaperoned," had me dying too. But also me, watching the trainwreck that is my mc, chugging into drowning maiden mode, because she can't stop being idealistic: Val, play nice, I already see you taking advantage of her ๐ญ. The crash-out is going to be real when her memories come back, especially with Devotion at 80% ๐ญ. Sunday already covered how darn cute baby MC is, so won't repeat that, just Selyra's story broke my heart and I'm saving Lirael for another playthrough, since Selyra really mirrors my current MC's struggles (knowing a lot, but being conditioned to shut up and pick battles as a way of coping from being cursed). One bug I've seemed to find is this: " Your sun-kissed skin catches the firelight, smooth and supple. chestnut hair falls in rippling strands around your face, framing the same vibrant 3 eyes you saw in the dream." I don't know when Shadewalkers got three eyes, so unless I'm behind on lore, pretty sure this sentence is not meant to say that ๐. Can't wait for the next update! You weren't kidding about Val turning on the charm once he pursues youโsir is VERY touchy.
