Thomas Verjans

I’m seriously starting to think that the aliens are gonna be a major trading partner and source of innovation for him, way before the STO… Maybe they’ll be the ones offering protection from the big corpos as well, now that would be a twist

Obviously the first task that he has to do is to protect the station investment. Secondly, he needs to get the station to a sustainable point. Most new businesses operate at a loss for years. Considering he's not actually in any country that makes things more difficult. Would a venture capitalist buy stocks in a company that has no laws? Who would loan money to someone that they had no legal way to repossess the assets they helped buy? (prob only pirates) Being cut off from any well-traveled shipping lanes means hard mode. They have to get to sustainability and do it with what they have on hand after the settlement money runs out. I foresee Alexander getting sticker shock when it becomes clear what the annual operating cost of that station actually is.

Ohh noooo. The last chapter available..... I wish there would be another 9999 to read XD. But it is okay, just finish your other story first and than you can write 50-80 chapters each day for this one. ;-) *GG*

Aclys

terraforming an entire planet is a good number of magnitudes more complex and resource intensive an operation than the repair and upgrade project already going on with the city sized base. Plus it wouldn't really benefit anyone there to make the planet More attractive for pirates or anyone else to want to come along and set up shop. What they need currently is to get their industrial infrastructure up and running, get those mining drones and ship and so on hauling in resources, get smelters and refineries going to turn those into useful components and then get the base itself up to acceptable status to serve as an actual station and base. This includes getting that orbital elevator thingy set up so they can actually receive and send out cargo and, eventually, service ships aka paying customers.

Fortunis

Fantastic. Now he has some real incentive to start busting ass to get his infrastructure going. (Not that he didn't before, but now he knows there's a credible threat). I wonder what it would take to terraform the planet. Considering Alexander is basically immortal barring catastrophic damage, he's got all the time in the universe to create incredible advances in technology. That's not even including whatever he has already locked away in his brain. Great chapter.
