> When I say .4c, that is just the average. It can vary a few thousand kilometers an hour up or down depending on the size of the ship. I think this should be a few thousand kilometers *per second* instead of per hour - at 120 000 kilometers per second, a few thousand per hour is a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of negligible difference. Even .1c is still 30 000 per second. Thanks for the chapter!

Old data in the model.... could be a vulnerability to exploit. Excited to see how this goes!

I can't wait for the fact that what he begins to design is basically that unknown ship

That's what they use for FTL travel. But the warp bubble becomes unstable in the presence of too much gravity.

Jeremy Macdonald

what if Alexander is that technology and he has just look inside himself. Sorry, that was just too corny even for me.

Jeremy Macdonald

I know foreshadowing is a thing, but even I know the Bad guy that just arrived on the ship. And those grenades are gonna have something in common. Probably someone's gonna try and use them against Alexander, because they can thinking, taking out Alexander will get the money. Something stupid like that, because I can't see another ship dropping in. But at the same time, it is very interesting for the foreshadowing about the drives, because I'm expecting a small. eureka moment shortly in the next two to three chapters, if I'm guessing, when. they realize that a stable device can be connected, which makes it instantaneous transport. So therefore, as long as you can send a small cargo vessel with another one of these portals or teleport pads or whatever, it's going to be in the end. You can actually go from planet to planet. And if that doesn't work, then it's definitely going to be sending a drone out into dead space, looking for pieces or parts or something Maybe a signal from out there allows them to find even video recording of that ship that the doctor was talking about, because even a small glimpse is might be enough for Alexander to be able to recreate something that powerful. They're already pushing the idea of that. There is a limit. So why work within that limit? Why not pick a project that has a higher limit and just outright like Alexander likes doing, kicks some ass.

Gabriel Melnik

Well that's a hell of an exaggeration. How the fuck would shit go so FUBAR?

Shmooggie

TYFTC! I wonder how those pirates are doing.

DaftWully

Well, that last line was certainly a flag. Now it is pretty much inevitable there will be a revolt of some sort, and Alex will have to trigger his failsafe while also needing to use the grenade launchers to defend from an external attack, requiring him to NOT trigger his failsafe. None of which will matter because his enemies will figure out the failsafe and trigger it themselves when they attack.

Gabriel Melnik

So they don't have an alcubierre drive and that could be a breakthrough?
