The council should of been a vote at the beginning from each sector. To have a fair and honest leadership.

Aclys

I agree, its definitively a neck-jerking seque going from one to the next. Also I cant help but feel this misses out on two kind of important bits of information to make the whole resolution feel truly sattisfying: One: Get grenade launchers, only devote 3 dudes to this part cause its not like it was important to get the ONLY weapons capable of giving Alexander trouble if not for the deactivation thereof. Kill Alexander and then.... get owned by the mercenaries employed by Alexander? With their former commander retired in that place there's just No chance they wouldnt get involved at that point. So what exactly was the plan here and why did anyone think it could work? Harper goes through all that trouble to grab and pull in political power... only to abandon it for a quick revolution that does not seem to have had any plans for dealing with said mercenaries or the people living there that where loyal to Alex or the old council members... Was he planning to just kill them all and rule a blasted out ruin? Two: Alex should have come across the aftermath of the big fight Damien had, have him scan the room and realize that he's detecting a few wounded running away.. a bunch of unconscious or crippled ex-combatants and 3 dead bodies around the guy.. Also would have been nice to see a scene or two of the people loyal to Alex and the council fighting alongside him... maybe help deal with some of those miniguns that got mentioned yet never shown? Just feels like for the multiple chapters of buildup this little micro-insurrection had it got wrapped up just one chapter too fast.

This was similar to my understanding from what I can remember of the description of the planet. It's breathable, but similar to high altitudes with an uncomfortable but survivable level of sulfur instead of nitrogen. His biggest difficulty would be food and potable water. However, I could see a potential plot device of him discovering an abandoned research outpost or something. It's a long shot obviously but like I said, it could potentially bite Alex in the ass later if MJM wanted to bring him back later. I suspect however that there will be plenty of other villains pitted against him already without having Harper rear his ugly mug later.

Assuming: - no dangerous forms of sulfur like hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere - no sulfur particulates or aerosols - atmosphere is exactly like earths - the increased sulfur levels only decrease nitrogen levels Sulfur is denser than nitrogen, denser air puts more stress on your lungs and diaphragm because it’s harder to move arround. Harper would be fine at +30% sulfur and could definitely survive under these pristine conditions; the symptoms would be similar to having asthma. At +40% sulfur, moving around or engaging in any form of exertion would quickly lead to fatigue. Meaning harper ain’t gonna be looking around for food or water for long. At +65% sulfur, simply standing would be exhausting and Harper would likely collapse and suffocate in minutes. Edit: the percentage increase is how much nitrogen is being replaced, not total sulfur in the atmosphere.

Vaughn Fredericks

Right now he's Swollen.

It's supposed to be 'at least'. Not sure what happened there.

Sam S

"Ast the ones that Damien hadn’t killed or knocked unconscious during the scuffle." Ast-> As ... I do not know what you want to do with this sentence.

The start was a little disjointed. The cliffhanger of Alexander going through a door gave me the expectation that the next chapter was going to open with him subduing the people inside. Instead I got a few days later. This made me go look for a missing chapter and reread the end of the previous chapter.

ben russ

This was treason. They are a country. Everyone who participated in the planning stages should have been executed

Aclys

not likely, the atmosphere just isnt suitable for humans long term, our lungs are actually very sensitive to how much oxygen is in the air we breathe, shift the % down like in high altitude areas? You grow weak. It's possible to acclimate to this to some degree but if the shift is too big? you'll wind up flat on your back gasping for air because your body needs more of it per breath than your lungs can get out of the air. Shift it Up? Now your lungs get poisoned from having too much bloody oxygen and this can actually kill you or permanently damage your lungs. For Harper and the others banished to this planet? Unless there's some hidden colony or structure they can get some proper air, water and food in? They're dead, its just a question of if it takes hours, days or weeks.

Aclys

Yeah, she's just clearly not leader material but that's okay, she's good at other things.

Gabriel Melnik

Someone should be shooting them on the back of their heads while they exit. Then put some lasguns in each corpse's hands and call it a day.

Shmooggie

Damien is SWOL!

Silver Beard

Still think Nancy is a risk to keep around; but if Kane is pulling all the Council's power than hopefully her decisions won't risk the others.

Silver Beard

Rather this character went away. Still plenty of the other villains in the story to keep the MC occupied. Let's be honest- if you can get your house in order how do you expect to keep the neighborhood safe?

SnufflenoseSmooshwhiskers

I wonder if Harper will somehow survive his surface ordeal and come back to bite Alex in the ass at an inopportune moment?

Chase S.

Great chapter, handled less brutal then I thought it was going to be..

Zachary Patterson

Yea! Thank you for the chapter!
