Holy moly, that's one in-depth explanation! Thanks, I'll revise a few things later today based on this. A question: you said they won't feel a cool wind, but wouldn't they feel the les fast air above the windflow?

Lommel

About "wind". Since those wagons are floating, and since it looks like that stream is not turbulent (or it would be very dangerous and uncomfortable), the amount of wind they will feel will be ZERO after the initial acceleration. The animals can fold their wings and just float everything just floats with the current. You need friction, e.g. from being on the ground with wheels, or from being in water that doesn't move at the speed and direction of the surrounding air, to have any use for e.g. sails. So, the passengers will feel no refreshing wind. And unless those animals add their own speed on top of the speed of the stream by actively flying they won't need their wings. All those do is that the initial acceleration after entering the stream is slightly faster, but it won't matter much. Without friction, everything that floats will just move with the surrounding air. Also, it will be quiet. A balloon in a storm is a quiet place, unless there is turbulence or conflicting streams, in which case being in that balloon would be very dangerous (the air in thunderstorms is like that, plus rain and hail and changing vertical up and down streams).

Thanks for the chapter! :-)
