I really enjoyed this chapter. Thank you

Carrarn

Lets just say that those cards aren't just going to be wasted ;)

Cal

I am just imagining all his soldiers getting a bunch of these great growth Harmony of Motion cards....

Carrarn

Good suggestion on the adding the types to the school arq - making a note of that for future me. Passives do stack. Just for the sake of the argument so don't take these numbers serious, but lets say Minor gives 25% increase, normal 50% and Greater 100%. If you add 4 minor cards to your hands before making a heartcard then combine them to a heartcard you will get 100%, same as a greater. Now, if you add 4 greatest, you will get 400%. The thing to remember, though is that if you do this, you will also be much stronger locked into strength and the chance to add equal amounts of, let's say agility cards [if we say that's opposite to brute strength which I know is debatable] will become far less likely. Now, the magic happens when we stack heart/soulcards with a single thing. Lets take teleporting as example. If you want to instantly teleport vast distances across the portal gallery, you will need to stack multiple teleport cards, while just teleporting across one world requires only 1 good one. Teleporting from one world to another like some Derlin cards allow ... well lets keep that to myself for now ;)

Carrarn

Fixed, thanks! :)

Carrarn

That's what he is going to do for the eventual cards - the part you are referring to is when he is practicing other things and he is using the Hamony of Motion card for it. He can copy that one far more times then Dance of Perfection, but he's checking if he can do it again, or if he could do it even better. In the end, he does continue from Dance of Perfection as a base to create the other cards. Good question though :) It means I need to make it a little clearer what he is doing and why.

Antony Claughton

Agreed. Named cards but not unique. I suppose I thought the named cards were unique though ….

Eric M

Not sure it was foreshadowed much, but as you've stated before much of the academy training was skipped through. Plus it's a great chapter, and a great card.

Cal

"Passive Increased strength, constitution, and physical damage" Should the last part be 'resistance to physical damage', like from the merged passive?

Cal

Yeah, seemed foreshadowed enough, especially with the named cards

Eric M

Shouldn't the card he made copies of with the template card be Dance of Perfection instead of Harmony of Motion?

Nicholas Del Rossi

The closest thing to a unique card I can remember is the named card. I don’t remember any other foreshadowing for this type of rarity. There are card ranks. Ending in diamond or amaralite, can’t spell it!?! Soul and heart cards. Named, and now unique cards. Passives, actives and hidden effects. Like growth, can’t remember all of them. Single use cards like the template and rabbit cards. Affinity’s? Can’t remember the name for them. I’d live a list of all this just to go over if there is one.

Thanks for the chapter !

Also one question I was wondering about. Do passives stack for attributes? like could irwin forge six ruby growth cards for him self with greater strength, constitution, agility, speed, soul capacity etc that enhance each other and be super powerful? Maybe they could combine when forging heart card into supreme or massive strength, constitution, etc.

derek sande

Seemed fine to me, but maybe you could add in some foreshadowing about different rare cards and types etc back when he was attending school. Other than that I really liked the chapter looking forward to the rest of the cards.

Stephen Pearson

Great chapter, thanks! :-)

Carrarn

A question: There was forshadowing of cards like this existing, but I have never fully named them. Does it come as a surprise or was it evident they could exist? I ask because if it feels out of the blue I need to find places to reference them a bit. And before you ask, making those is hit and miss, even for Irwin. That said, he will eventually create his own card, though we aren't there yet. :)
