No worries- if you find something cringe, no need to apologize. Anyway, there's plenty of plenty that talk like that, I actually know a few. Don't worry - there' won't be that much of it in. Just a few points. Besides, Irwin's mom might just have something to say about it ;) Just look at it like forshadowing? :)

The whole “big brother” “little sister” is.. kinda cringe? Sorry, but nobody talk like that right? Just feel icky

Thanks for the chapter! I wonder what allows someone to control non-basic information on a card. Things like extra bonus message text, ancestral memories, innate card feelings towards certain species or concepts, embedding whole individuals (Derlin cards) and perhaps adding or removing the smith's signature. Like, does a sufficiently powerful smith just have to feel particularly hard, or are there specific cards required to interact that way? Or does the card need to contain a non-trivial chunk of the individual who crafted it? Or in the case of erasing names, somehow contain none of the crafter's self stamped into it? It's probably going to be a hot minute before we get to see more crafting revelations, but it'll be interesting if we ever find out.

i am pretty sure the Oculithar card was super corrupted and had to be tossed as it was going to explode, and it did. think they learned something from it but can't remember which exact info they gleamed from it.

Josh McDonnell

Does not Irwin still have a Oculithar card? I remember it mentioned that they could mot figure out what the card did and it was suggested he just start reforging it and see what happens. Did he ever do this? I think I would remember Irwin reforging a Oculithar card.

forshadowing some dagger trouble going forward? here to hopping this area of the portal Gallery does not over indulge in debt slave's, for there own sake, hopefully for them this area just has a lot of the people here due to the need for cheaper labber, and that no one in power try's to stop them from leaving or exploit Irwin's incoming offering for them to join him as they leave, might be wise for Greldo to do some sneaking before the potentially over zealous yuurindi recruiting begin's. also how is there name pronounced? is it like (you-Rin-De?)

Nicholas Del Rossi

i can see no possible ways blasting soulforce resonance across this area of the portal Gallery could possible Damage the ships anger the Slugs or call big slug back for another go at the barrier, well i can but i don't think we are setting up for it but we might get to see a nice reaction from the Oculithar but probably not on the scale of calling back the big Crusher, maybe they go into a frenzy, maybe they target Irwin, maybe it just weakens or hurt's them, maybe the ship under them and right beside the attack is fine, maybe the shields or soulforce of the powerful protect the ship and crew, maybe it will all turn out perfectly fine. . . .

Sorry for the clifhanger guys - It wasn't planned like this, but sometimes it happens. Also- as some of you mentioned, Greldo's first soulcard (on RoyalRoad) was Ruby-rank, not Emerald rank. I did some searching but all I can find is that aparantly I changed this at some point. I've gone back to the previous chapter and changes Greldo's introspective to better match with this - though the message is roughly the same. I haven't search for the other mistaken references of it being Emerald in the previous chapters. If someone recalls those chapter numbers, let me know. Thanks for pointing these things out so I can keep things proper! For those wondering: I did check this before writing it multiple times, but there was a discrepency in my notes, and what got posted on RoyalRoad :(
