I meant in terms of if it would be a giant card like the titan one

There's a single thing in here that is a nice forshadowing for the future :P I wont admit to or deny any idea s you might have from me saying this, but I'm curious to see if you will remember in a dozen + chapters from now :)

Not Me

Definitely a major idea, although it seems almost too broad of a category to be a type, since there's physical sensory enhancements, strength, speed, durability, tool-based dexterity, etc. But I suppose "strength" is right in Irwin's wheelhouse and would qualify.

Not Me

Piano has a greater range (for both high and low notes) than guitar played normally, although guitar can go higher (and achieve a theoretically infinite range) if you bust out the harmonics. In a general sense, string or wind instruments will be more expressive than keyboard instruments. Keyboards are effectively limited to notes that correspond to their keys, and while string instruments with a fretboard (e.g. guitar, electric bass) are somewhat limited by their number of frets, it's much easier to bend your way into other notes. String instruments with a fingerboard, and without a fretboard (violin, viola, etc.) have more natural flexibility to hit any note within range. Guitar is probably already flexible enough for their needs, and Irwin already has a human voice, which is the ideal of expressive instruments. But since Irwin and Ambraz seem to be natural bass singers, they might lack in high-end range and balanced composition more than any particular level of expression. Perhaps some percussion that isn't hammer and stomp, or some way of inducting other performers (particularly the intended recipient of the card) into their performance and creative process.

Irwin and Ambraz, the two-man quintet

On the pyroflux, it seems silly not to create such a card for someone else. Either a specialist fire combat or Ignitzian landscape developer would both benefit from such a card. After what he learned here, he’s going to need better music/instrument cards. What instruments allow for more detailed notes than guitars? Piano?

Antony Claughton

Definitely body enhancing is a major theme, if that’s a type it should be one of his major ones.

Antony Claughton

I expect quartz. It’s the quality and type that will matter. As a high enough % means Irwin can forge it up high.

Not Me

Agreed, unless he’s planning to personally become head of a a Galadin-elemental dynasty, it’s probably not super helpful. But perhaps he can pick up pyroflux incidentally, through a card that has some sort of phase change (solid->liquid), soulscape control, material transmutation, environmental adaptation, personal domain (like being able to inflict his soulscape on the world/draw the world into his soulscape), or temporary card synthesis ability (being able to recombine elements of his other cards on the fly, with lesser efficiency). And a more general lava card might let him make inroads on stone, minerals, and crystals in a way his metal card doesn’t.

Antony Claughton

I also wonder if Greldo (or others) could add his soul force to allow the creation of shadow or summoning base cards that could then be reforged?

Antony Claughton

The inner worlds will send out an expedition for a chance at a worldcard. What would they do if ever shown a card with “Creator: Irwin Roddington”?

Stephen Pearson

Thanks for the chapter! :-)

Having the ability to summon a whole bunch of Pyroflux would be useful when he wants to flood an environment. Steam fills from the top down, Fire doesn't persist, Pyroflux could flood from the bottom up.

ThePickleBoss

Wonder how big the card he will make will be

ThePickleBoss

It would probably be a hand card

Adunn

An entire card dedicated to pyroflux for the purpose of bringing it in to his soulscape seems like a huge waste of a card.

Not Me

Thanks for the chapter! It's kind of interesting that Irwin's third major typing after fire and sound is metal, despite only having the Coperion Body card. I'd almost think that his third typing would be something like tool summon (hammer, guitar), size increase (Coperion body, the Titan card, the growing hammer summon), or growth (the subtype). There's probably even an eyeball sensory combo in there somewhere, with the eyes of blaze and ability to see soulforce. Soulforce might be his most or second most represented card type overall, but I guess soulforce-typed soulforce would be super strange.
