I started watching without the movie going for the first time and had to laugh. I'm running around early trying to get ready for a family thing and I realized I'm just listening to the silence of you watching the movie. Switching to Short version lol.

When you watch RASHOMON (#159 on the Top 250) which is thematically very similar to this, please use these categories for the characters. Thank you!

The cinematography is outstanding. Here is one of the best analyses I have ever seen: https://www.bfi.org.uk/features/how-12-angry-men-works-25-frames

fun theology fact: any time spent working retail counts towards "time served" on your Purgatory sentence. 🙂

Much of why this is so great is the script itself: it was written as a live TV play in the Fifties which is why all the action takes place on one set. But look closer and you see why director Sidney Lumet got an Oscar nomination. He starts with distant overhead shots as a detached observer because we don't know these people. But by the end it's all tight closeups, and we feel like we're literally in the middle of all the arguing, like a family dinner. 🙂

Yes, it's grown in Reactionverse popularity in the last year or so. I hope other great, passed-over movies follow suit.

Ah yes, we all strive for a life of "rainbows & buttcracks". Whimsory, you are such a goofball. Only you would be reviewing 12 Angry Men & break out into a lame old Rod Stewart song 🤣 As usual, you did an excellent job. I would put #7 & the real prejudice guy in the "cruisin' for a bruisin'" also. And, being a guy, none of them razzed my berries. But I do agree, there were NO wet rags! Ginchy: I was born in '62. I may have heard the word in passing on a tv show, but I never heard anyone seriously use it. It looked to me like you initially didn't understand why Cobb's character changed his verdict, am I right?

This may very well be your best outro so far!

12 Angry Men has become I think the most popular B&W movie to react to, and one of the best
