Wow! What a nightmare! It was very kind to give her so many chances but what a strange way to treat someone. “Stunned silence” is the perfect way to describe it—when someone acts like this and it doesn’t even register to them how terrible they are…what do you even say to that? It seems like a small incident, but those types of things can really stick with ya. I’m glad you were able to see that side of her before you got any closer! Ugh😤

Maybe that BPD expains an encounter I had long ago when I was in my 30's. This beautiful young woman very flirtatiously approached me with that kind of eye contact and smile you use to let someone know you are interested. She gave me her number, and we agreed to meet up for tennis that weekend. I called her to work out the details... no answer. Tried again 20 minutes later... no answer. I was like "Oh great, she already changed her mind." I see her the next day. She's like "Oh hey, what happened? I thought we were getting together for tennis." I explained how I got no answer and concluded that she changed her mind. She was like, "Oh no! We're still on for that. Let's try again next weekend." So I try again. She answers the phone this time, but says "Oh I forgot, it's my dad's birthday. So I'll be with my family celebrating that today. But we'll get together sometime." I ran into her a week later. I said "Hey Stephanie!😃So when are we getting together?" She gives me an annoyed look and says "It's just tennis." Then turns, and walks away.😨I'm standing there in stunned silence. Thinking "WTF was THAT." I've had a hard time trusting flirtatious women ever since. Her BPD gave me PTSD. 😭
