I love these episodes so much, you can really feel the adventure beginning! The scene with them raising their feet to crack open the ceremonial sake barrel in the rain and storm is one of my absolute favourites. And yes, these episodes are practically pure canon (meaning that it plays out pretty much exactly as the manga chapters). So you know they're meaningful, in many ways of the word. That Dragon sure is an intriguing character, isn't he?

This episode is perfect example of the foreshadow in this show, I mean you have nearly 300 episodes till you know what and why things happened. Saga does not do this show justice.

I mean if they want to stay faithful to the source material like they said they would & have been then a recast would be crucial for the plot unless the actress wants to take it upon herself to lose weight then more power to her. π«‘ There is a reason to cast a thinner Alvida, she said it her self. The Devil fruit itself changed her body, that's an important detail imo. Not giving her the smooth-smooth abilities and not changing her look would basically turn her into a filler character at that point, & i dont think OP fans would be very happy with that.

To be honest, I dunno if they'll bother to recast her in a skinny form, you know? Technically there's no reason for her to be skinny just because she ate the smooth smooth fruit. She could still be smooth in her initial size. In fact, there's more surface area, lol. They showed her and Buggy in episode 8 of OPLA, but in the manga/anime, by the time she met Buggy, she had already eaten the fruit. And Luffy not recognizing her initially in the anime/manga seems like a trivial comedic detail that they'll probably cut for time in the live action, and she's more or less irrelevant afterwards, playing the "Tsukkomi" to the "Boke" of Buggy and his crew. But there's still a possibility they'll do it. There's also a possibility that they may not give her the smooth smooth fruit abilities at all.

I am so ready for ya'll to enter the true story of One Piece! A mass drop would be awesome. When you reach the right part a 1000 plus episodes will seem like it isn't enough. When it goes from daunting to dread, knowing you only have 1000+ episodes is a real stage I and others went through.

And so the legend begins! Some good mysteries were setup here, and Oda is the kind of writer who does not forget. When you start to get some answers and even bigger questions, this series becomes so tantalizing lol. It truly does get better and better over time, and even now in the manga at chapter 1099, every chapter contains some mindblowing shit that recontextualizes shit that happened hundreds of chapters prior. I could go on but I won't π Love these reactions! I'm excited for more!

Also to clarify: Canon - pure "official" story material. What the author intends to be experienced. Mixed Canon/Filler - some of the episode contains anime original scenes not originally present in the manga, but also contains some Canon material. Pure Filler - this episode contains no Canon material from the manga at all. Typically a completely irrelevant episode or arc. Think of these as never actually happening.

logue town names come from the prologue, serving that part of the story. Some people theorize it's also where the epilogue will occur since the previous pirate king was executed here. Also, in Japanese translations, `R` and `L` are interchangeable, so it can also be pronounced as Roguetown but it is often clarified during the English romanization of such words, for example, to this date the official translation for the one piece manga calls Zoro as `Zolo` π

Well now you guys are done with the Prologue! π€£ The real Fantasy aspects get to come in full swing now. Also Smokers fruit is a different type of DF. It's a Logia (your body becomes an element which you can control and project). You saw Smoker was also immune to Luffys physical attacks. That's just the beginning of how crazy these powers and characters will get over time.
