I love that you pointed out Eneru must have had wings at one point and replaced them with the drums… kind of like Oda is trying to tell us God Eneru is like the fallen angel Lucifer: the Devil. That is definitely something I think that happened, but Oda has never confirmed or I think been asked it.

I love the carzy things that Oda makes Luffy goes throw for taking him out of the picture because if Luffy takes on the big boss early he will overpower him. And the fact that we dont think of the gum vs lightning untill the first attacks its soo nice.

If you think about it, Enel would not be able to construct Maxim without Shandora getting blasted up to Skypiea. The gold is completely essential to building it, due to the conductive ability of gold. And of course you would need the specific devil fruit he has to power this machine. Very cool that he built a flying amplification machine for his power. This lets him build giant thunderclouds and channel their raw energy with ease. Maxim definitely reminds me of the Pluton that Crocodile was after in Arabasta. Hmmm a ship that apparently is going to be used to blow an island outta the sky. Made from the gold from a kingdom that was protecting several poneglyph's and uses a "godly" devil fruit as its power source. Sounds very ancient weapony to me. Not that I think it's Pluton necessarily, but it def fits the bill in the description. Luffy beat Enel's ass in that second episode. That bazooka looked painful as fuck lol.

Right?!!! That is why I said Luffy was subdued inside the snake for a purpose. Oda was keeping it from revealing Luffy was the natural enemy of Eneru, although some fans might have guessed it. But it took a risk, especially for the modern fast-paced storyline. Some fans might not appreciate and getting impatient for Luffy inside a snake. I was fine with this besides it got a great pay-off from Eneru's hilarious shocking face. LOL

Luffy being rubber seems so obvious in hindsight. It’s an absolute credit to Oda’s writing that so many of us just… forget 😂 keeping your main character sidelined for so much of the arc risks being such a big turn off to the audience, but it paid off in such a big way.

It's always so hype when you finally get to Luffy vs the main villain of an arc! The journey to get there just builds it up where you are so excited to see Luffy finally put them in their place.

“Heso” is obviously used as a common greeting in Skypiea, but in Japanese it means belly-button. I think it’s intentionally meant to be baffling, cuz Luffy was super confused when they first heard the greeting. And it’s never explained by Oda why he chose “heso”. I always just wrote it off as Oda’s strange sense of humor! 😂
