Now you know what people mean by bad pacing in this arc. 😂 I'm still loving it but it may get on your nerves when they drive it so long without Luffy

Ah, King Neptune, the guy who spent the whole arc doing… nothing. Watching him in my first run of Fish-Man Island had me screaming at the screen, “Move! Do something!” But nope, there he sat, while the pacing dragged so hard it felt like the animators were trolling us. Frustration levels were maximum 🥲🥲 Then on a second watch, it clicked, Neptune’s out here with a sprained back and old age weighing him down like a sea anchor. The poor guy probably sneezes and hears a pop. It’s almost sweet, though. He wants to help but physically can’t anymore, so he leans on his kids and ministers to keep things afloat (literally). Still, I can’t help but imagine young Neptune during Roger’s era or even before (I’m not sure about lifespans of Fishmen) but I bet that he was just this absolute unit of a Fishman tossing pirates left and right, probably crushing it at parties too. But now? He’s like your grandpa who used to be in the military but now struggles to get up from the couch. You respect him, but you’re also like, “Stay seated, old-timer. Your sons have got this.” Poor guy deserves a break… just not in his back again!😛

Most of this was just build up of how strong Hody is with the Drugs, and how strong his commanders are. Still think Jason is being hard on King Neptune, remember Luffy was tied up with ropes and was struggling to get out of them, and here Neptune is full on Chained up lol.

Well to be honest, each scene of Hody's comanders is each a page in the manga. So the Anime really stalled it out to fit it all in 1 episode.

It's okay Helen, you can judge Oda a little bit. One Piece indeed has many little plot holes. Remember, Oda has to deliver 15 to 19 pages of manga every week, but the story as a whole is amazing. And the anime drags things out too much for practical reasons as well. They air weekly and have to stay behind the manga.
