Fun fact about Momo's outfit and her super tanned friend at school. They are a subculture called "Gals" or "Gyaru" in Japanese. It basically is a fashion counter culture to traditional Japanese fashion and focus on having the lightest skin possible. That's where you see the tanning, bright colors, more edgy US focused fashion, and slang. Just like how the US has a bunch of Otakus into Jap culture, Gyarus are opposite essentially. Styling after California and Miami esque women. It's very cool to look into subcultures that pop up abroad.
