I believe you felt this way and I'm piggy backing off from what you and Heather said. The oomph you were looking for was there, but saving the island was the main focus, which didn't give you much focus somewhat on the fight, so once he was beaten it was ok now the 2nd biggest issues need to be dealt with at the time. Like for me I felt it Armorment Elephant Gattling Gun is to rekoned with. 2 Giant fist that are like 10 ton bowlilng balls samshing against someones body is pretty impactful if you ast me lol.

I think the intention was to make it more about the ship falling since, even though Luffy defeated Hody, Hody's ambition would still be complete if the ship fell and destroyed the island.

Thank God Hody is gone. I agree with Jason, it's lack luster because he so clearly out classes who he's fighting. There are many in the One Piece community as a whole who would agree as well

Also with luffys moves you guys have seen elephant gun before, the moves change names sometimes when he uses armaMent haki or gears 2 or 3. a example is like (giant pistol and then with armament haki its elephant gun) hope this makes things easier

I love the idea of you guys doing an SBS segment! I haven’t read them myself, so it’d be fresh content for both you guys and for us I think. For context, SBS is a Q&A where fans ask Oda questions about the manga chapters, and he provides answers. Many of these questions address things we still wonder about today, while others explore ideas you’ve probably thought of yourselves. There are also fans who dive even deeper into the series, asking questions I’d never even consider, and I always end up learning something new. Since the Q&A is easily accessible online, maybe the mods could help compile them in a document, organized by manga chapters that match the episodes you’re reacting to or you could also read the ones from the beginning of the show, and with each upload you could start reading the SBS segment all the way from the first arc onwards. We’ve got all the time in the world anyways 😛 Then, you could read and discuss them at the end of each reaction video. I would love to hear your take on them:)

Hershey and my dog sorta look alike. My mom says my dog looks like a Ewok too! I get what Jason is saying for a villain I feel like Luffy could’ve defeated so easily I feel like they dragged the fight out too much for me. He kept getting away and other stuff kept happening and I was ready for luffy to just put him down real quick. And yes Jason the defeat didn’t give me that real suspense that is needed when the main character gets to defeat the annoying villain. I feel you on that one. I guess that’s why this arc wasn’t it for me. That’s why I said in the beginning of this arc I feel like this entire arc could’ve been 30-40 episodes. Okay I swear this is my last comment about me not liking fishman island all that much! ❤️
