Also when 火 is next to other kanji it changes to ka...for example 火山 which is kazan which means volcano or fire mountain. Also if you notice the japanese word for mountain can be san or yama but when it's used in a kanji compound it seems to change to zan. I am wondering why fire fist is called hiken and not kaken? I am guessing because it's a fictional move?

Wow watching the demon slayer movie with us! I definitely favor that idea but if you guys decide to change your mind again and want to go see it in the theater then we definitely wouldn’t mind. Also the bonus of watching it at home is you can take all you want to throughout the movie unlike at the movie theater where you have to be quiet 🤫❤️

Bun-sensei's Japanese corner: - hi - Kanji: 火 Meaning: fire; flame; blaze Reading: /hee/ ['hi' as in 'history'] Word 'hi' means fire. It's a very basic word, one of the first you learn while studying the Japanese language. By itself it means fire or flame, but it is a part of maaany, many more complex word as for example - hiken - [kanji: 火拳] which means 'Fire fist' and is Ace's (and now Sabo's) special move. You'll hear the word 'hi' a lot since it's so common. PS I forgot to comment on my name. I had a good laugh when you wondered what my name could mean and yeah... It means the bun you can eat, a type of pastry... Not the other buns... Lol. It's connected to a way I call myself in my native language. I like to call myself a lazy bun or a bun of fate (instead of a victim of fate). It's like calling myself "a bum" lol.
