Awe yes you guys are my anime parents ❤️. That filled my heart with so much love. You guys had an amazing week of anime. All of the episodes you watched this week were absolutely amazing with the law backstory, frieren and her crew vs the demons , and thorfinn with his run in with the lady and daughter in the village and his fight with thorkell. This is probably one of the best weeks of anime you’ve had ever! So many different emotions and surprises. I can’t wait for next week to come! Also look at Heather being right with her theory on what happens between doflamingo and Corazon

Totally agree! And it's not just about their personalities - which were evident from the start - but also about the paths they were set on after their childhood tragedies. Doflamingo was taken in by Trebol and his crew, while Rosinante found guidance under Sengoku and the Marines. It's a powerful parallel to what might have become of Law had he remained under Doflamingo’s influence. Instead, thanks to Corazon and the deep, selfless love he showed him, Law was given the chance to walk a very different path.

This is a great example of how two kids going through similar experiences can end up in completely different positions, both phisically and ideologically. Both Doflamingo and Rosinante lost their position as celestial dragons, they both suffered hunger, pain, sickness, and the loss of both their parents. The main difference being that Doflamingo listened more to the other celestial dragons around him instead of his own father and mother, and Rosinante actually kept his humanity even through all the pain, still rejecting the celestial dragons and joining the Navy. It makes me think about the devil falling from paradise and wanting to take revenge on God's creation or Cain and Abel having one brother killing the other. Oda is great at bringing classical tragedies to life in a masterful way.

Guys, can you imagine watching 704-705-706 together and leaving the story when Law cried after Rosinante's death?!? You would have been devastated for the rest of the weekend! 707 gives a little closure to Law's backstory and ends on a lighter note. **Funny how I wrote this comment before Heather said exactly the same thing!**

So, if I remember correctly in the manga the translation for the was Cora says "I love you!" to Law is a nuanced Japanese-language thing. He says it with a phrasing that would be similar to if your parents told you that they were deeply proud of you, that you're a wonderful child. It's like the most meaningful way a parent can say that to their kid in Japanese. I'm not sure if they use the same phrasing in the anime, but that's the point Cora is trying to get across. He's telling Law he's wonderful and loved, no matter what.
