Okay so, the whole Usopp and Sugar scene? Pure comedy gold 😂 Oda was just having fun drawing the most over-the-top, ridiculous facial expressions ever. What actually happened is super simple: Sugar gave Usopp a real Tabasco-filled grape thinking it would mess him up, but his reaction was so horrifying and exaggerated that she ended up getting scared out of her mind and fainted on the spot. That’s it. Nothing deep, just chaos and comedy. And as for why her powers didn’t work, easy. Devil Fruit users can control when they use their powers. It’s not like they’re on autopilot. Sugar didn’t want to turn Usopp into a toy right away. She wanted to be a little gremlin and make him suffer with the spicy grape first. But the joke’s on her, because Usopp’s face was a new visual trauma unlocked and she passed out. Classic backfire. So yeah, moral of the story: never mess with a man who’s survived sky islands, giants, and his own lies 😜

The back lash to Sugar's power is amazing! The fact that everyone including yourself forgets the person is insane. You could keep your mortal enemy by your side and not even know. The hobby hobby fruit is strong but its weakness is hefty. Imagine being hit with all those new old memories at once you would be so disoriented.
