Hello !
Yes, I confessed it to you guys, I was excited to discover this show but also a little stressed : for what I heard, the story is about a girl in the period of time where you're supposed to have a stable job and a boyfriend, but she doesn't and she talks to the camera because she overthinks everything… See where I go with that ? I was clearly afraid of connecting too much with the girl. But no, she is clearly weirder than me.
In fact, it's more that she's in a mood that I could have been in, if I wouldn't have worked on myself. She has such low self-esteem… And I can see that she would want to say/be different that what she actually says/was, during a situation, but no, it doesn't get out. I said it, I have the impression that the girl suffocates with her thoughts, but she keeps everything for herself because she doesn't want to seem weak, to ask for help. She has traumas, but she also traumatized people around her by being like that.

She has trauma, from loss of her mother and her friend. But also her family doesn't show her love ( as you noticed when she shows up at her dad's home ). She was in a disturbed way asking for help. But he acts indifferent, insulting her mother, and says "wait here I'll call you a cab." Also "don't go upstairs" where his new partner is, who was godmother to the daughters and began a relationship with their father not long after their mother's death. There are funny moments like when the bank manager says "that kind of thing won't work here anymore" ( that last word being key ) when she flashes him. It is created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the star of the show.
