So about clarifying the whole situation solution, the problem is that they DID clarify it. But with having no memory kaguya can't verify the presented statements as fact ( and there's the underlying issue that she felt undesired) and with shirogane he clarified he didn't do anything but was still looked at with suspicion ( and the underlying issue of feeling guilty for the whole thing anyway)
