i just realized this episodes title (like in the actual episode not something you did melon) has a typo. it says "The Spirit Canon" but it should be "The Spirit Cannon". Canon and Cannon are two very different words.

I personally think shouting "Kikoho" would sound more cooler than shouting "Tri-beam".

There's no count while you're touching your opponent. Its not about keeping them down, its about them not being able to stand on their own if left to themselves for 10 seconds. Like how you can't keep beating on a downed boxer to keep them down for the 10 count. Also, the rule is that they have have to stand before the announcer counts to 10, not 10 seconds. :p
