I'm the same way. I know a lot of people looove the Red Ribbon Arc, and it has its moments, but for me the only person of significance that came from it was Tao and for me that's just because it marked the beginning of a tone shift. The real tone shift happens after the Red Ribbon arc concludes. But I never found the Red Ribbon arc as exciting as the other arcs, and definitely not as thrilling as the arcs that follow. But, with the end of this arc signifies nothing but net from here on, IMO!

The red ribbon army stuff always felt like such a long slog in the middle of Dragon Ball. I know it has significance later but they could've cut out a couple of those generals at least and given more time to later arcs. Glad it's almost done then we get to the real meat of the series.
