I think Episode 15 is when Iroh is ever-so-slightly out of character, but even still, when he's offered a fortune telling and responds with "at my age there's really only one big surprise left, and I'd just as soon leave it a mystery" - that's Iroh through and through. Even at his weakest writing-wise, he gets some bangers.

Just a little fact, in the final fight it wasnt water that washed away the scents. Katara bended the perfumes to cover up the smell of Aang. Also I think you missed that the Shirshu paralyzes with its tongue. Appa didnt just got scratched. He got hit with the tongue and the only reason he could move afterwards, despite the paralyzing toxins, is that he's such a big boy. It took multiple hits to take hime down, while Katara and Sokka only needed one to be paralyzed. Aangs and Zukos fight in episode 15 is my favourite so far. Its just amazing

The crazy thing is that Season 1 is probably the weakest of the three, and it's still really good; especially the last 3 episodes of the first season.
