While this is the beginning of the dreaded "Appa arc", this is also the episode in which the Toph-is-blind jokes begin, and that's a huge plus.

It always breaks my heart, when Aang finds out that Appa was taken. He is his best friend, a lifelong companion with the strongest bond you can think of and the only reason Aang is not a traumatized mess after the genocide of his people. Also, Professor Zei deciding to stay in the library no matter the circumstances is kind of incredibly beautiful
