The thing Bulma was hanging in the window is called Teru teru bōzu. Its basically a good luck charm thats supposed to bring good weather or shoo away bad weather. :)

i think this comes 2nd to goku beating king piccolo for myself. That fight is crazy...but the nostalgia in this ep....its a tie maybe.

I think the moon thing had to do with basically remember Goku doesn't find out he ever turned into the monkey until DBZ, Kami basically tells him "the moon can't be restored unless we get rid of your tail for good" because he doesn't want Goku rampaging as a monkey with all the power he has, and doesn't really want to tell Goku the full truth. So the tail didn't technically "have to be removed" but more of Kami wasn't going to restore the moon for Goku unless he knew Goku's tail was gone, but then told Goku it "had to be"

I often reread the adventures of small goku (only the manga though, the anime is just too long/slow). I just like the atmosphere his journey had while searching for the dragon balls, fighting the red ruban army, climbing korin's tower, going to baba's place... Adult Goku will keep some of his sillyness, but it won't be the same. This tourney will be fire though, for a lot of reasons.
