Last Human Chapter 1 Development:
Coding: 80% complete
Dialogue: 80% complete
Music: 20% complete
Graphics: 45% complete
Animations: 60% complete
GUI: 100% complete
So, I get this question a lot: When will episode 2 of Serenity (Chapter 2) be released?
Work will not start on that until the first episode of Last Human is completed and out there. You can look for the next Serenity (Chapter 2) update around 60 days after LH's first episode goes public. (Note that this is just an estimate).
Here we are in the middle of July. As you know, I was hoping to have LH ready for release by my birthday (28 July). Unfortunately, it's just going to take a bit longer than that. I know, it sucks. But I've realized a few things in the script that I need to rewrite. When re-reading it, I just didn't like some things about the second half of the episode. It is important to me that this first release makes a good impression. I failed on that with Serenity and I don't want to repeat that error. I learned a lot of valuable lessons through developing Serenity. I want to apply what I've learned here and make the story that I want to make. Therefore, I'm going to spend the time to make it right. It is important that I love everything about the final outcome when I release it to you. If I find errors or - if I decide later that something just doesn't sound right, I will delay release and fix it. We all knew this would be a long development, so this should be no surprise.
So, I'm sorry you have to wait so long for this (and Serenity). I just want it to be the best I can currently give you with all the things I've learned so far. And for my Serenity fans (my 'bread and butter'), Don't worry - there is plenty more of that coming over the next year in tandem with Last Human releases. Just because I started a second project doesn't in ANY way mean Serenity will get less attention. In fact, I'm hoping to keep growing that game and eventually redo the first half of it (if I ever get the time!).
Anyway, until release, I'll continue to post 'character sheets' for Last Human characters. Patrons will see those first, but a week or two later, they go public while I release the next patron-only posts. These 'previews' are meant to introduce you to the girls in LH, and get a first look at them - who they are - what they're about, etc. I am also going to try creating a short trailer video for it (we'll see how that goes).
Finally, I want to close this devlog with a shout out to Mutt & Jeff, the developer team behind Pale Carnations. I know, it doesn't seem like the kind of game I would enjoy, right? And I can't imagine their fans think much of Serenity. Well, I have to say that these guys do amazing work. And although I am not 'into' some aspects of this AVN, there are few teams with a writer at this skill level. TD's writing is bordering on 'pro' level. Same for Gil's graphics... absolutely stunning characters and sexy scenes, amazing animation work... and I know the kind of concentration it takes to create those animations. Most of all, I respect that these guys do this for love of the art. Be sure to check out the latest public release at the link below. Let yourself step outside the box for a bit and be entertained by something that may even be a little out of your comfort zone! Hey, if I can do it, you can Haha!

Take your time with LH N2! I have good vibes on it, just from having been around since Serenity's first release, all the way up to now, so very much planning to help Hype it when it gets released! As for PC...not one I have any interest in, but to each their own. As for the next chapter for Serenity...I can always replay Serenity, and I has plenty other games while waiting...and there will be LH as well.....I think I got my Waiting Game covered!!

One thing I was particularly impressed with is a scene where you're "gifted" the use of a house girl already bound, gagged and suspended ready for some very extreme bondage play; and the game choices give you the option to verify consent with the girl AND set safe words. I was inordinately happy to see that in this game and it made me think TD must also be in the Lifestyle.

I will say that it helps my wife and I have been in the local BDSM community for 20 years. Pale Carnations certainly takes some things further than any sane person in the Lifestyle would, but it's also a clear extension of that community. Though Kat could definitely use a good talking to about pre-scene negotiation and "Safe, Sane, Consentual"... π
