Serenity C2 Episode 4 (Devlog 5)

Well, today I'm in a better place than I was two weeks ago, and development is moving right along. I am happy to report that coding for episode 4 is now complete and I have already started working on the graphics (as of Wednesday). I am shooting for a release on December 6th. Realistically, I cannot say for certain if I'll make that date because... well, this episode is full of sex scenes. If you wanted more sex out of Serenity, it's going to be all up in your face in this episode. So, a lot more animations, and many of them have choices (2 or more different options), and one that you can turn down. Enjoy this episode because there won't be as much sex in the next two episodes. I'm even naming episode 4: Feed the Fade. LOL
Now, you guys see a character render I've attached. This is a preview of the six girls in your harem after they've joined together to become one. Before you ask, NO, this is NOT permanent. Yes, they can do this whenever they want to. And yes, each of the girls' personalities will come out at times. I had a really difficult time deciding how I wanted to render her. Obviously, it is hard to make one girl 'look like' all six girls. As the leader of the harem, Kat's body is used, but at times, certain features may change, depending on which personality is speaking or acting. Her eyes may change color, boobs might get bigger, and yes, even Trixy's lightning bolt tattoo may appear. All of this will create some complications during the rendering process as I'll be changing the character model a lot. Details details! This may be one of the more complicated episodes I've done (for either game). But in the end, I think it will be worth it and I hope it will become a favorite with everyone. This episode is just a fun time before the 'boss fight' that will last 2 episodes - so those of you who don't like drama, or may be triggered by drama, prepare yourselves for that. I promise it won't be overboard. But this is also my attempt to actually have something BAD happen that is not resolved in 3 scenes. And not matter what you see, you will love how it ends, I assure you ;)
Speaking of endings... let's talk about the end of Serenity. I hear some of you groaning already, relax! If I don't end it soon, I'll never get time to work on a new game. I have the first 2 updates for "Camilla" coded already so that all I need to do is render images for that. But I am also still trying to decide if I want Viral Affair to be the next game, or another one I had in mind. As for Serenity, episode 4 is fun time. Episodes 5 and 6 are 'boss fight' - dealing with Anastasia. And finally, there will be the pregnancy episodes. This will end on episode 7 or 8. I haven't decided if I'll just make a longer finale with episode 7, or go ahead and split it into two, and have an episode 8. It just depends on how things go from here on out. I am still also working on Last Human after this release (episode 5), and it is going to be a long one too. I have my work cut out for me, but hopefully a good plan moving forward.
For those of you who are fans of Camilla, as I've mentioned, I am actively working on a game solely based on that character. Some spoilers ahead so that you get an idea of what it will be about... It will not connect with my other games, outside of natural Serenity stuff that gets mentioned. The name of it will simply be "Camilla". It is a prequel of her time as a mortal on earth before she became a dream writer. You will be a new male character meeting her for the first time. The game will have other girls in it you'll be able to "interact" with, if you know what I mean. But Camilla is the only main love interest (rest are just some side fun and Camilla won't care). Camilla will be growing into and discovering her powers, and since she lived with her father (Demitre), you'll see small bits with him and how he began to change (unknowingly at the time under Anastasia's control). Players who have played Serenity should know that "Camilla" will have an odd sort of ending because we all know she eventually leaves to join her father in his dream world. But you'll have plenty of fun time with her before that happens. It will be a short game... maybe a bit shorter than Serenity chapter 1.
I know, a lot of stuff going on. Let it sink in. We still have a lot to do before we get to all of that Camilla fun. We need to finish Serenity first. And continue Last Human updates in between, so it's all still a little way off. Your support has been helpful, both paying and non-paying supporters and I appreciate you all. Last month I topped out at just over 300 paying subscribers on Patreon, which is the most I've had since I started. It's dropped off again to around 287 today. If I get to over 500 or more, and can stay up there, there is a good chance I can begin looking at retiring from the full-time job, and only focus on my games full time. We'll see! Meanwhile, I appreciate all followers whether you pay or not, and even if I never get up there, I'll still be pressing on because I love doing this.

Oh are we all drooling yet? I sure am. On the pregnancy subject. Being a prevailent subject in Last Human are you going to give us a series of updates with members of the harem crew turning up Prego as well as various cuties the MC interacts with when on planet? Just imagining the queen knocked up!!!! King MC sealing his reign over THE Neko panet in the ULTIMATE way.. Just imagining.. Will they be more like a human pregnancy? One or 2 babies, or 3 maybe? Or what about "Litters"? Do Neko mommas carry litters of kittens? And just what does a REAL Neko baby look like? I can see them pulling each other's tails and even chasing their own tails now!!! ROFL! ALL HAIL N2TheFire!

Well, let me be clear... I am not changing anything about Serenity or my writing style for anyone other than me. Yes, I absolutely take in some criticisms and that does at least partially cause me to make slight adjustments sometimes, mainly when I see it as something that should benefit all of my followers. But make no mistake... YOU are who I want to embed in this story. The ones who love it the way it is. I gave up trying to 'please everyone' a long time ago, that doesn't work. What drama you'll see in coming episodes will be tame by the standards you mentioned (acting lessons - horrible ending) - no way will I ever do something like that.

Some people can't live without drama, and there are too many vn with drama often times too much of it. Life is generally full of drama. The thing I like about Serenity and especially LH is how little drama there is or is easily resolved, doesn't involve killing girls off (acting lessons) to mess with the minds of players in ways that shouldn't happen. There is nothing wrong with just a fun happy story, given how messed up this real world is, like I said some people can't live without having the worst kind of drama in their lives, because they have nothing without it. It sounds crazy. I read some of the reactions or reviews for your games, and honestly they seemed more like they where trolling rather than reviewing your work. Nothing is ever going to perfect, and the moment you attempt to try to make something perfect its the beginning of the end. Your stories are quirky and funny at times, this is unique, it's your writing style and the story you want to tell, the moment you veer away from that and try to appease people and write for them, whether consciously or unconciously, it ceases to be 'your work', it's written for a sub set of people. You must absolutely stay true to the way you write, the way you tell your stories, don't let anyone tell you any differently, otherwise you will loose the uniqueness we love your stories for. Even little changes can have big and unforeseen negative consequences later on, no matter how well intentioned it was at the time. What I am trying to say is, in just a simple example. I love the way Serenity is right now, unchanged. Changing it just kind of takes everything away from it, even the renders. It's what gave it charm and the writing style. I know your not happy with it, and that's fine as long has it has nothing to do with people trying to push you into doing the rework because you might feel bad about they may have said or reviewed, you must stay absolutely true to the way you write, render etc. Listen to what you write from the heart. Otherwise you will loose that beautiful uniqueness your stories have even if there are flaws in them. The small flaws are what make them beautiful overall, I know that may not make sense. People will either like your work or they won't, but don't pander to them, even if you think it will raise your patron numbers, because you will eventually loose those subscribers who supported you because of how you told your stories, and be in the same place now, except with people who will try to place writing standards and expect perfect renders etc and the uniqueness will probably have been written out of you. I am sorry for such a long post. I love your work a lot, and I don't want you to change because of some reviewers. <3
