Personal Update - May 31st, 2023
🕑 Added 2023-05-31 19:00:04 +0000 UTCHey there, Halftilt here with an unexpected surgery update -- first, it's nothing serious, but I'll need to take some time off for recovery -- I'll be taking at least the next two weeks for recovery.
So, what happened?
Well, I got my gallbladder removed and haven't had much strength to do anything other than watch youtube videos and catch up on my library of games which I've been neglecting.
My gallbladder issues may have started a while ago as well, I've had dietary restrictions for a long time because I assumed I had some kind of gluten sensitivity; as certain types of grains would cause me to have some intensely painful episodes and I had checked in with two doctors before about this issue and none of them could determine what it really was, they just gave me diets and lists of foods to avoid.
Turns out none of them bothered to look at my gallbladder! I went to the ER last weekend after having an episode and after undergoing a CT scan and an ultrasound, they almost immediately discovered that my gallbladder was completely infected.
Luckily, the infection hadn't spread to anywhere else and they were able to schedule a surgery to remove it on the same day, so I'm feeling pretty blessed about that -- and other than this gallbladder issue, I had a pretty clean slate of health and the rest of my vitals looked good! So at least there's some good news there!
To Sum It all Up
This means I'll be listening to my doctor's advice and I'll be spending the next week or two recovering from my surgery. That means no work, no exercise and just drinking a lot of water, keeping up with some breathing exercises and giving myself time and space to rest.
I just wanted to say thanks for all of your support and patience. I'll still be posting some art teasers every so often, but that's about it until I've finished my recovery.
And just from me to all of you, if you ever have second doubts about anything health-related, do your due diligence and get it looked at! And make sure you get second opinions until you get an answer! I know if I was persistent I might've avoided a lot of the headache I'm going through right now.

Thank you all so much for the kind words!!!! It means a lot!!! <3 Recovery's been going pretty well so far, I'm pretty lucky I've had my partner here to take off work to support and take care of me -- still trying to take things one step at a time here, though I'm already feeling about halfway to my old self. It's been tempting to try and dive back into everything here, but I'll try and stick to the two week plan and take things at a reasonable pace.
