Okay I forgot how good this one was and I agree it's better than #2. The opening song was Summer in the City... definitely not Christmas. Finally this franchise jumped the shark in #4, I'd stop here.

This one is good. I always go back and forth between the first one and this one. Both excellent. Loving these reactions. Also, just to recap the water jug puzzle. You fill the 3g jug and empty it into the 5g jug. You fill the 3g jug again and fill the 5g jug to the top. So now you have 1g in the 3g jug and the 5g is full. Empty the 5g jug and transfer the 1g into it. Now fill the 3g jug and add it to the 1g. 4g exactly.

There's some fun cultural differences that pop up that help reveal to John that the cops at the banks are actually bad guys. The guy Karl in the lobby says it feels like it's going to rain like "dogs and cats" when the common expression in America is the reverse to say it's going to rain like "cats and dogs". Also Karl comments that he always ends up taking "the lift" when Americans would refer to it as the "elevator".

This one is my absolute favorite. Probably because I watched it the most as a kid and I loved the banter between Bruce Willis & Samuel L. Jackson lol.

I love 1-3. 4 is pretty fun too, but it is so different from the others. Though it gets criticism because there are some bonkers moments in it 😂 I haven't heard a single positive thing about 5 though.

Glad you enjoyed this one, I also think it's better than the 2nd, because like you mentioned, the second was sort of copy paste. Although some people dislike the 3rd exactly because it breaks from the mold of the first two. I also agree that Simon is a much better villain in this one and the throwback to the first movie was a cool touch, without being too forced, and played well into the plot overall. That being said, the first is always going to be the best hands movie down, in my opinion. You can keep watching the others, especially since you've enjoyed all 3 so far. Just trying to level set expectations is all. For context, the 4th movie was released 12 years after the 3rd, and was sort of an attempt to revive the franchise, much like Indiana Jones. And in both series, many people only prefer the original trilogy, but maybe it's just the rose-tinted glasses.
