There's a list of things in this movie that dates it: smoking indoors, pay phones, faxes, bringing tasers on planes etc. but the biggest one is the completely steam powered airport.

Looking forward to the third one and your thoughts on Jeremy Irons' role in it. It's a bit different compared to the first two, but still kind of similar and still good. After the third though, it starts to suffer from the "Fast and Furious" syndrome where they are trying too hard to one-up the previous entries and it just becomes ridiculous, almost like a parody of itself.

I'll take the credit ๐คฃ The Rod and Staff comment I'm pretty sure is from the 23rd Psalm in the Bible. Not shooting at John on the wing was basically because the wing was a giant fuel tank. When you edit you'll will notice the tape on the magazines of the weapons. Blue was safe (blanks) and red was for live rounds. Again this is my opinion but after this one the series goes down hill until they just become silly. In my mind Alan Rickman will always be Hans Gruber and Severus Snape.
