Completely inconclusive about Gendry, but there was a scene in season 1e2 where Cersei mentions having a baby die that had black hair. And later when Ned talks to Gendry, he says all he remembers is that his mother had yellow hair. This is just something I picked up on from your watch and I noticed you were talking about Gendry.

It's not often that you guys don't react how I would expect, but you talked over the scene of Tyrion realising Sansa had already been told about Rob and Cat! Should go back and watch that scene it's heartbreaking 😭

Gendry is a direct son of Robert. Joffrey is not related to Robert at all, so Gendry has a better claim to the throne than Joffrey.

The thing often sadly is that we see around us what we believe ourselves to be. So honorable people often fail to "see" the dishonor around them since they assume everyone else acts with the same moral compass as them. The same can be said about dishonor as well. People who are dishonorable "see" dishonor all around them so they assume everyone is out to get them.
