I stg i NEVER got that bar until i listened to a few days ago when they announced this reaction. And I used to bump this album all the time. And even worse, in the video it says "get it?" after that bar. I felt so slow.

Ab soul was my introduction to TDE when this came out. He was my favorite until GKMC dropped. Insane lyricist. A part of me feels like he helped pen 6:16.

Kinda interesting that Jay Rock referred to Black Hippy as the four headed dragon. Slaughterhouse used to refer to themselves as the four headed monster and Joe Budden has talked about there being a bit of a rivalry between Black Hippy and Slaughterhouse as the two groups that were part of interscope and connected to shady/aftermath at the time, so I wonder if that bar started anything

Dope reaction to one of the dopest albums of the 2010s. Was cool to revisit and tap back in with you guys, catching some of the bars I missed when it initially dropped. Genuinely had the same reaction with Kony 2012 on SOPA too, crazy. Pineal Gland and Book of Soul my standout tracks, but no skips, which as you said, is so rare on a 17-track album, especially these days. I'm definitely gonna need at least an Ab-Soul feature on Kendrick's new album where they go back and forth. Speaking of, forgot how wild Kendrick was talking on Black Lip Bastard, reminded me of Eminem in saying outlandish lines and naming actual names for the shock value - even himself declaring it was K-Dot that said it was like Slim Shady. Hopefully Soul has another project coming soon, I've still got his feature with Daylyt on PI as Verse or Joint-Verse of the year.

Would def love a reaction to "These Days" or Do What Thou Wilt (even if it's not entirely a 1st listen) even going back to Longterm Mentality you can really hear how he's developed in the last 13 years

Now yall see why I (and many others) have been pushing the reaction for this album!! I was a sophomore in high school when this dropped, me and my boys would blast this daily and I still find new bars/meanings with each listen just a flawless album in it's entirety. Also with Herbert Ab talks about how losing both Mac Miller (who they were super close) and his right hand man Doe Burger around the same time led to his suicide attempt on the song Do Better. Dope reaction as always fellas!

The album cover is a “Ab-Soul” take of the Kabbalah Tree Of Life which is from Orthodox Judaism, super esoteric and crazy stuff if you look into it.. really interesting spiritual takes on a lot of stuff and really neat to see it touched on by someone like ab-soul🙏🏽🙏🏽
