I love Little Simz but I feel the production on this album is reallz weird imo. Also it doesnžt complement her vocals and how her voice in general sounds. Some beats were reallz weird

Thief = Stevie Wonder vibes Lotus = Minnie Riperton vibes

Thief is Simz Lost Ones (Lauryn Hill), very unfortunate, but necessary.

You guys should check out Leikeli47's new album it's out today, she showed her face for the first time too recently

Would love to see y'all cover No Thank You, the album in between SIMBI & this one

Sampha on the last song reminded me to as again

Can y’all do lahai by sampha? One of the best 2 albums of 2023. And one of the best of this decade

Inflo is Cleo Sol’s husband as well, so we probably wont be getting collabs outta them 2

I prefer What Kinda Music with Tom Misch, but phenomenal artist either way

If you liked the production on Lotus you definitely need to check out Yussef Dayes, the project Black Classical Music is my favorite

Dude I wish so bad they’d check out a full length Billy Woods album, such a masterclass of lyricism and poetry if not his latest at least Maps or Hiding Places
conefield
check out GREY Area boys, is on the same level as her last three

I checked and Inflo, the producer Little Simz is talking about here, literally produced all 3 of her last albums (Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, No Thank You, and Grey Area), like every song. Unbelievably sad that he turned like this, and you can absolutely hear the pain from her.

Yeah they were super close. Simz has a few songs with Cleo Sol on them (Woman for example on SIMBI) who's married to Inflo...

Young definitely takes a hard left turn from what has come before (and what will come) in the album. To me, as I sorta grew up on this stuff in London, it feels like a parody / homage to some early UK rap stuff, specifically probably "The Streets" first album "Original Pirate Material". Big fan of Simz and this album, glad you gave it a listen!!

LETS GO!!! Someone already mentioned the Inflo drama, he was her go to producer, as far as I know like a Drake/40, Kendrick/Sounwave, etc. level duo that came up together. First song was all at him, but there were some other bars about the situation as well. The title track is my favorite, her energy and passion, the flows, the lyrics, the chorus, the instrumental, unbelievable. 10/10 song for me, she always has at least one on each album imo. Excited to see your thoughts after you get to digest it!

That's crazy! appreciate the context

OMG I DIDN'T THINK YOU'D GET TO THIS. YEEEEEEEEEES

the first song is directed to producer inflo, they collaborated a few times and he has multiple credits on SIMBI as well. apparently she gave him close to 2 mil and now he’s refusing to pay her back. she also said they had worked on 4 unreleased albums before they parted ways and i guess they will never be released

The volume feels low
