First off -- I want to say that I think this reaction was pretty fair for a first listen. I REALLY want to see a recap video from you guys after a couple of weeks listening to the album because like most Drake albums this one is growing on me at a rapid pace. Secondly just some comments on the reactions; I think Prince was being overly critical and I understand why. I saw this take from a lot of people who (rightly) thought that there was going to be a heavy PND influence on the album. I'm 90% sure Party being the lead artist on the collab is strictly because of Drake's legal battle with UMG because this is as much a collab as Her Loss was where it was clear Drake was the lead and 21 was there for support. So I get the disappointment. However this is why I really want to see a recap because I think Prince really gave up on the 3 track run of 'Meet Your Padre', 'Nokia' and 'Die Trying'. To the point that Darae was enjoying a Drake project more than Prince lol. I actually think it's dope that Drake is forcing PND to come out of his comfort zone, because let's be fair, you can line up so many PND & Drake collabs (including half the album) and they are from the one lane (Toronto/Modern R&B sound). I never thought I'd hear PND spit some Spanish yet here we are looool. Thirdly, personally I LOVED this album from the first listen, here are my thoughts 12 days later: - Unlike FATD, I felt like I set my expectations just right. Like I said above I expected the artist ordering to be misleading because of the legal battle and this was gonna be a Drake ft. Party project akin to 'Her Loss'. - The 3 experimental tracks in the middle was completely unexpected, but while 'Meet Your Padre' is not for me, 'Nokia' is ABSOLUTELY my shit (gives me 'Nice for What' vibes; can't wait for the summer) and 'Die Trying' was extremely dope. - I felt like 'CN Tower' was the perfect intro to set the tone right and 'Greedy' was the right outro to send us off especially with the piano riff at the end (was that 40?). - I think my biggest disappointment still is that the 'Crying for Chanel' beat switch was only a minute; the synth with the 808s was very reminiscent of 'Crew Love' (although I admit that the first part has fully grown on me, at first I was also thrown off with the pacing). - To put into context how much I like the album, I find the first 10 tracks no skips and 15 of the first 18 are no skips ('Raining in Houston', 'Meet Your Padre', and 'Celibacy' I skip). - This album is a solid 7.5/10 for me! Also it wasn't in the vid but IDK if you guys caught it; the outro of 'Small Town Fame' was Toronto's very own upcoming comedian Hassan Phillis so shoutout to him!! tl;dr: I REALLY wanna see a recap/revisiting from y'all, first listen reaction was fair but I felt Prince was overly critical (I understand why tho), and for me it's a very solid 7.5/10 with most of the album saved to my phone.

Ironically I actually fw a couple songs and added it to my PL but it’s mostly because of the production and the vibez PND brought to the project. I personally feel like Party and the production carried the whole album. Drake felt like he was added into it on sum last min shit to vent which is cool if u paying attention to the whole beef but sonically I didn’t feel anything special from Drakes contribution. It feel like it was PND album and he gave it to Drake and or some of the songs were left overs from Drakes previous albums. But overall it’s just a crazy experience to watch Drake drop and not shift the culture and I personally didn’t feel the impact of any of his songs. And btw pimmies dilemma is the best song in the whole project, no ask me why.

That’s a fair take, but are we really still questioning in 2025 whether Drake writes his own bars? We know there are reference tracks for a few Take Care songs and one track with Yachty off Her Loss, but to suggest he doesn’t write the majority of his raps is wild. I don’t have an issue with Kendrick using that angle—his bars in Euphoria tied to that were the hardest he spit in the entire battle. But overall, Euphoria wasn’t efficient. At six minutes long, with too many drawn-out lines, I get that he was trying to paint a picture, but if we’re measuring hard-hitting bars aimed at Drake, the song wasn’t effective compared to its length. 6:16 is a good song, but as a diss track, it’s too vague and lacks connected punches. It’s easily the least impactful diss in this battle. Drake had missteps, but when it comes to bars, consistent setups, and punches, he destroyed Kendrick, in my opinion.

Solid album, and Gimme A Hug is fire—a great way to address the beef. A lot of the discourse around the beef was emotionally driven rather than logical. If it were purely about what you say and how you say it—which is what rap battles are truly about—there’s no way you could say Drake lost. It has nothing to do with delusions I'm basing it off my experience as a data scientist and my ability to find his album at midnight. I have a constraint on my Spotify of not playing kdot, I searched up the album and could not find it until I typed in Nokia, ND I searched pnd, drake, $$$, etc. Then sometime on Saturday and Sunday Spotify searched stopped working for like 10 mins then all of a sudden it was fixed. I was then listening to the album and half way through Luther played. If my constraint is already set to not play Kenny based off data rules it shouldn't be in my queue but it was. That was my experience, argue with urself.

You know that Kendrick feud aftermath has really affected people subconsciously when now its Darae defending Drake... to Prince of all people. Though I get why Prince is being so critical, he wants to see his guy win and get back up. I rock with both Drake and PND but going in with no expectations really helped me enjoy the album a lot more. I saw that once Darae got Prince on a different wavelength, he was feeling it more too. Too much experimental stuff, but it does fit the concept of the album. There are some really really good tracks though that are what PND/Drake fans want.
