Solid project. I do think some of the middle section like Sk8, What We On (sounds like a Travis joint), No boo (which sounds like a Drake track) don’t contribute much to the album concept even if some fans like them. It weakens the middle section. JID even responded to a post that said the first 6 could have been an EP, saying he gets it but he was trying to do something for the women fans. I think he could have polished the concept better throughout the album. One thing that was lacking vs Forever Story is there aren’t strong singles like Dance Now and Surround Sound. WRK might be a good strip club joint and Sk8 can join Nokia and Ring Ring Ring from Tyler on the rollerskate playlist. But they are pretty average joints otherwise. If he really wants to be in the Big 3 conversation, he should be able to make commercial hits.
