I like how Mako's persona is similar to Zuko, and funny enough I'm pretty sure his name is also a reference to Uncle Iroh's former voice actor, whose name is Mako as well. Liked how they honored his legacy even in the Korra series

To this day, I still have no idea how scoring in pro-bending works. Lose the first two rounds, win the third, and somehow win the whole thing? So confusing. Minor fun fact: Korra is voiced by Janet Varney whom, along with Dante Basco (voice of Zuko), hosts the official Avatar podcast, Braving the Elements, to this day.

I really love this episode, especially with the introduction of Mako and Bolin. I am pretty sure that this is the first time in the Avatar franchise that we see siblings with two different bending abilities. I might be wrong but I can't think of any other siblings with different bending in ATLA.
