I think Katara giving Zuko crap is they kinda both bonded with their loss of mothers at a young age and of course Aang almost died too, believing Zuko changed.

Man what a great reaction! The sync with the duo and the dragons was by far the highlight of this episode, and just the overall literary structure of this episode, the creators did such a good job with the storytelling. 10/10 episode for sure!

Notice how Zuko calls Aang "The Avatar" and refers to Appa as "this thing." This is because he hasn't heard their names, so he actually doesn't know what else to call them yet. It's kind of a cool little thing to notice.
