They didn’t change it per se. DBS works as follows: Toriyama cooks up a plot, then he sends that outline separately to Toei and his protégée (who cowrites manga with him). Each one has the freedom to connect the plot points in their own way, as long as they hit every single one of his plot points. But since Toriyama had a strong role in the manga, you could argue that the manga events may be more to his liking

I really liked how once Goku transformed into his SSG(red hair form), he was able to beat the U6 Sayians easily because of how strong the SSG form is and Goku's mastery of martial arts . Also I do like the detail of when Goku(SSG form) is fighting both kale and caulifla, only kale to a certain extent is able to keep up with Goku because of her berserk Sayian form whereas caulifla just can't keep up anymore with either of them. Also I guess Ken's wish of another heavy hitter being in the tournament has come true with arrival of Kefla.

Yes Ken there will be much handholding where Kale and Caulifla are concerned 😂 I adore Kales newfound confidence, it’s endearing to watch. Kefla has now arrived on the screen, pretty good strategy on Champas end to keep this ace hidden until the very end.

So fun fact, in the manga when kale first transformed into the ledgendary super Saiyan state, she was facing off against frieza, who was also in his golden form and said in a cocky attitude that super saiyan didn't surprise him. He quickly learned this wasn't the regular super saiyan state as kale grabbed frieza by the face and slammed him into the ground and then decided to grab his tail and slam him into the ground repeatedly. She almost knocked him out of the ring and then went on a rampage and knocked quite a few contestants out of the ring. It was pretty funny seeing frieza get absolutely destroyed in the manga

Sorry for yapping, lol, but your end discussion about Kale reminded me. In the manga, Kale was never timid or weak. She was eliminating people in her base form alone. She had always known that she was stronger than Caulifla, but hid her powerups because she didn’t want to mess up the power dynamic they have. Later, Caulifla found out Kale was holding back and told her to power up. After that, Kale went berserker again, so Cabba sacrificed himself to force the Potara onto her ear, allowing them to merge and have Caulifla dominate the personality, taking Kale’s berserker side out of the equation. Same result, but a very different path

27:12 I wouldn't say Gohan’s "stronger" than Goku. He certainly has more "potential" (as has always been the case), but not anywhere near as strong especially factoring in techniques like the Kaioken. He's definitely up there in power on the U7 team tho.

And we've reached possibly my favorite character just ahead of Kale, Kefla. That spunky attitude, the hair tied back that's Kale's a really great fusion. Plus that shit talking, oh, so good. Maybe not as good the othe fusions' entrances but a damn welcomed one. A fan favorite as well. I want your opinion on what Caulifla's and Kale's name would be if they did the fusion dance instead of the Potara. Like Goku and Vegeta has Vegito (Potara) and Gogeta (noncanon but still a fusion dance fusion and fan favorite).
